Fall Fly Fishing
Bud and Homer’s 2-day trip was a good example of how much fun fall fly fishing can be.  This fall fishing season has had some ups and
downs with weather, but most days the fishing has been memorable with some exceptional highlights.

This 2-day adventure started on Tarryall Creek in South Park.  The water was low and clear with the fish concentrated in deep pools.
Nymphs were most productive for trout with several scrappy rainbows getting fooled in the morning.  It was a very nice crisp fall day with
some beautiful fall color along the river.  The highlight of the morning was the 2 large Northern Pike that came to hand. The largest pike put up an amazing tussle that was a blast on a little stream.  We finished up the day on the South Platte and caught a few more very nice trout to end the day.

Day 2 was spent fishing the Meadows of the North Fork–a very nice private stretch of river.  Both Bud and Homer did a great job hooking
and landing some great fish!  Many of the fish were caught sight fishing.  This is a very exciting way to fish and a great way to target
large trout.  Morning and afternoon both fished well, with lots of sizable trout caught and released.

As we get farther into fall, fishing is generally still very good.  The cold weather has increased fish activity in the rivers and the brown trout are into their spawn.  Please try not to disturb the spawning beds when walking.
