I have been fishing for as long as I can remember. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion that became such an important part of my life. I grew up in Northeastern Ohio where I worked in the local fly shop, Chagrin River Outfitters, throughout high school. My desire for year around trout fishing led me to Colorado for college where I majored in Environmental Science and Sustainability at the University of Denver. Clever scheduling allowed me to fish most days throughout the week and guide for Tad Howard, the founder of Colorado Trout Hunters.
After school I guided part time while also working as an Aquatic Biologist at Colorado Parks and Wildlife and as the Director of Communications at Fishpond. I then returned to guiding full time at the Orvis Endorsed North Fork Ranch for years before becoming owner of Colorado Trout Hunters in 2017.
Fly fishing isn’t just what I do for work, it is who I am as a person. I love to travel the world with a fly rod in hand and am lucky to have a wife who is very supportive of my passion. In my rare free time, I am a big Ohio State fan and also help run a fly fishing travel company, Frigate Travel.
