Everyone loves summer and fall fly fishing, but what most people don’t realize is, winter is one of the best times to get out and fish. While the conditions aren’t always ideal, the fly fishing is productive and the rivers are far less crowded. With that said, the tactics change and that can be a difficult step for people to make.

So, what can you expect? We will be hosting 5-hour long, group clinics on the Blue River in Silverthorne in January and February. Each clinic will start with a run through of the necessary equipment and fly selections needed to be successful during the winter. From there, we will perform on-water demonstrations of the tactics we use to fish cold, clear and shallow water. Once the demonstrations are complete, anglers will have several hours to test what they have learned with oversight from myself and the FlyCast team. The goal of this clinic is to provide you with the knowledge and skills to feel more confident, fly fishing this winter.
