Colorado Trout Hunters Guide: Phil Tereyla
Phil moved to Colorado in 4th grade, started fly fishing when he was 11, and was instantly hooked. Spending all his free time chasing Colorado trout has made Phil extremely knowledgeable on our local trout streams. Phil has a very good knack for adapting to Colorado’s ever-changing river conditions.
One of Phil’s greatest assets on the river is his unbelievable ability to spot trout. When he tells you there is a trout in front of you, get ready!
Phil is currently studying history and secondary education at the University of Northern Colorado.
Phil’s other passion is ice hockey. He has played in Colorado, Minnesota and Canada. His passion for teaching has also led him to coach youth players. Phil is currently the Greeley Youth Hockey director and coach.
When Phil was asked what he liked best about guiding, here was his response: “I love being in the outdoors and find nothing better than a day on the river helping people learn about the sport.”
Spend a day with Phil and you are sure to have a fun day with memories to last a life time. You will definitely have a guide who will work hard to make sure you learn some tricks, catch fish, and have fun.
