Report:

Unusually warm weather in Colorado has unfortunately sparked some fires but also some incredible early season fishing!!! (the fires have not impacted our fishing areas at all).

Spinney Mountain Reservoir is opening early this season April 2 at 6:12 AM the gates will open. Expect lots of anglers but some great early season action. Antero and 11 mile are fish-able and we have excellent reports from shore anglers at Antero catching good numbers and big fish.

The migratory fish are also moving in the system and recent guide trips and personal fishing days with our friends and guides have been

exceptional — for quantity and quality. There are a lot of crowds!!! Please respect other anglers there are plenty of spots to catch fish

right now.

In trout news:

Our private fly fishing areas are just starting to heat up. April looks to be a great month on the North Fork of the Platte and I expect some of our high lakes to ice off 2-3 weeks early this season.

Although the weather has been beautiful we could use a bit of rain and snow in the high country. Both for fire protection and to ensure our water supplies.

Enjoy the spring fishing!
