Spinney Mountain Reservoir is a 2,450 surface acre South Platte River impoundment located between Antero and Eleven Mile Reservoirs in South Park. It is owned and operated by the City of Aurora. Colorado State Parks maintains and operates recreation facilities and access during the ice-free season.

Do you want to chase some of the largest trout in the state?  We are excited to offer guided trips on the best trophy trout reservoirs Colorado has to offer!  We are fully insurance and permitted to target this fish from boats, giving you a unique fly fishing trip you won’t soon forget!

Spinney Mountain and Antero Reservoirs are managed to provide trophy trout fisheries. This allows our anglers a chance to catch the fish of a lifetime. These desolate high plains reservoir has exceptional insect life as well as an abundance of crayfish that the large trout love.

Northern Pike were first introduced into Colorado in 1956 by the Colorado Game and Fish Department and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.  With optimum spawning conditions, Northern Pike have been naturally reproducing almost every year and eating lots of the small trout.

Spinney remains a great spot to spend a day; just be sure to check the local weather report for wind and weather conditions before setting out for your adventure.
